As the most widespread popular culture in the world, Hip-Hop has influenced a number of creative fields, from fashion, to theatre and fine art. However, Hip-Hop's reach has yet to influence architecture. This is inexplicable considering architecture's direct connection to the physical environments which birthed the culture. My research is focused on analyzing the four pillars of hip-hop culture, and extracting their aesthetic tactics to be applied in an architectural project.
